Republic aggregates plant spurs electrification in Alagao
Luzon Continental Land Corporation of the Republic Cement Group, Meralco and key officials from the municipal government of Norzagaray, Bulacan, recently performed the groundbreaking rites of a project that would pave the way for the future electrification of two barangays in the province, namely San Mateo and Minuyan.
With the development of facilities in Barangay San Mateo, the Republic aggregates plant will soon be connected to the grid. A 7-km distribution line will be installed along Alagao road, as part of the first phase of a planned development by Meralco. This will enable said barangays to have future access to electricity as households in the area will be able to apply for a connection with Meralco upon commencement of the second phase of the project.
“We are excited with the developments that Republic and Meralco are bringing to Norzagaray. We fully support this project and look forward to the benefits that access to electricity can give to San Mateo and Minuyan,” shared Norzagaray Mayor Geronimo Cristobal.
With inclusive growth in mind, Republic, together with Meralco and in cooperation with the municipality of Norzagaray, intend to pursue projects for the further development of the area.
“The Republic Group is committed to positively impact our communities. We want our communities to grow as we grow. With the development of this vital utility infrastructure, we hope to spur economic growth in the area,” said Felipe Baniqued, Jr, President of Republic Group’s Luzon Continental Land Corporation (LCLC).
