Republic Cement Iligan Plant hosted a 3-day Big Open Day Celebration at the plant with the newly-elected City Council of Iligan City and barangay officials, representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Iligan Plant retirees, and families of the new plant employees.
The Open Day Celebration is an annual event to create a relationship of trust and cooperation between Republic Cement, the LGUs, regulators, the community, and our employees. As part of the mining industry and as a cement company, Republic Cement recognizes the concerns about pollution and the environmental impact of its plant to the community. By opening the plant, Republic Cement was able to show its adherence to the rules and regulations indicated in the law. The guests saw for themselves the changes the company has implemented to improve its operations from past to present.
The event was also an opportunity for the company to share its social and environmental initiatives to its stakeholders. Republic Cement also shared measures to reduce dust emission.
