Republic Cement, in partnership with GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF), played a key part in this eight-month-long construction project. Aside from the company’s donation of over 1,300 bags of Type 1 cement, it also provided technical advice on the appropriate product to match the project’s specifications, along with concrete mix supervision.
This new typhoon-resistant bridge replaces the previous wobbly wooden bridge, which was devastated by Typhoon Niña in 2016. Made of concrete and steel, it will connect the community to nearby schools and town. The bridge is also equipped with solar lamps to ensure safer evacuation during typhoons.
