Pampanga LGUs divert plastic equivalent of ~250 million sachets in 2021

11 Pampanga ENROs were awarded and recognized during the get-together lunch at Alviera Country Club in Porac, Pampanga.

ecoloop, the resource recovery group of Republic Cement, recently hosted a get-together lunch for Pampanga LGU ENROs at Alviera Country Club in Porac Pampanga. 14 Pampanga cities and municipalities were recognized for their green and environmental efforts in reducing their LGU's residual plastics that end up in landfills and waterways and instead diverting these to a more sustainable and environmental recovery and disposal process via cement kiln co-processing.

The LGUs of Lubao, Guagua, Floridablanca, San Fernando, Sasmuan, Mexico, Mabalacat, Macabebe, Arayat, Porac, Candaba, Angeles, San Simon and Sto. Tomas Pampanga diverted an equivalent of ~210 dump trucks or ~250 million sachets in 2021 from landfills and waterways, more than double the amount diverted in 2020.

Through ecoloop’s Cement-For-Trash Program, the LGUs get cement in exchange for qualifying residual plastic wastes, which they can use for environment or social development projects.
