Republic Cement, Colgate-Palmolive Renew Partnership for a Zero-Waste Future


Colgate-Palmolive Team visits Batangas Plant’s AF shredding facility

Republic Cement and Colgate-Palmolive Philippines pledged to extend their partnership to solve the nation's plastic waste problem, signing a Memorandum of Agreement last August 17, 2023. Since signing their first M O in December 2020, both companies have been working closely through ecoloop to reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up back in the environment.

A joint program was held in Republic Cement Batangas Plant to show their ongoing commitment to a sustainable future. In attendance were the Colgate-Palmolive team led by Colgate-Palmolive Senior Vice President and General Manager Angel Qi, Republic Cement Batangas team with CEO Roman Menz, along with DepEd Supervisor Emiteria Villamor, EdD., Mapulo Brgy. Sec. Shirleen Fajilagutan, and select faculty members and students of Mapulo Elementary School.

Mapulo Elementary School students actively participated in the Linis Talks session

Linis Talks session was also held by Batangas Plant's Environment team, followed by the ceremonial turnover of personal hygiene kit for Mapulo Elementary School. Dr. Cata Manuel of the Colgate team also led an IEC session to discuss oral hygiene. The guests were then taken on a tour around the plant afterwards.
