Republic Cement & Building Materials, Inc. was recently conferred the “2018 Corporate Citizenship Award (Asia)” by the International Trade Council, a peak-body chamber of commerce representing over 28,000 corporate members, along with an additional 418 regional and specialist chambers of commerce in 93 countries.
This annual award is given to a single Asian-based company meeting the following criteria:
Proactively works to share knowledge with the local community
Works to develop community economic activity outside of their own business
Contributes towards initiatives which care for their local natural environment
Significantly contributes to the overall well-being of their local community
The Council particularly notes Republic Cement Norzagaray Plant’s contributions supplying the upper COC area with water, contributions to the local community by way of significant SDMP funds, its support of student education in San Jose del Monte and Norzagaray, its referral service for the indigent community surrounding the plant and its major contribution to the economic welfare of the people of San Jose del Monte and Norzagaray.
The Council also acknowledges Republic Cement’s support of its activities, including the MediCart mobile medical clinic project, street children feeding / educational program and animal rescue and re-housing service.
